Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

Today my brother is coming. He will stay till Sunday. In Frankfurt the International Book Fair started and my brother is a part-owner of a second hand bookstore.

My bathroom window is closing after all. Thank goodness it helped that the janitor used anti-rust spray. When I got home in the evening and tried to close the window it worked. That means I don't have to buy a new window yet :woohoo:

1. Good thing that window closed, Ms. HC!
Window in my bath/shower was stuck, and fortunately landlord fixed it (old paint!) and installed storm window. Last shower was pretty chilly!

:hi:  :loveya:

Yes, I am very glad the window is closing again. It got very cold here and I hate coming to a cold bathroom in the mornings. The window is from the early 70s, so it is no wonder that it has some rust in it.

I fell asleep on the couch again last night. Slept 2 1/2 hours and then went to bed and was able to go to sleep almost right away. And still this morning I wasn't really awake when the alarm clock went off.

7. I think I'm enjoying being over the cold,
And able to simply fall asleep again.

The chilly weather has helped too, I curl up under the blankets and I'm gone. :)

I have company over the weekend as well, my niece and her friend will be staying a night. Unka Salmon will take them out for Noms. :9

8. Good Mornin' MissHoneychurch!
And this time I am actually up in the morning instead of the afternoon :P

That's great it was such an easy (and free!) fix for your window. Here's to janitors! :toast:

Before I saw your description of the lion's paw, my first thought was "Knut?" ;)
Great closeup!

Here's another German musician I like: Mars Lasar - Eagle Flight :D

I am very glad about the free part too. I think he will get a bottle of wine from me for Christmas. He helped me a lot this year.

I've seen Knut, but only when he was a grown-up and I couldn't get a good picture of him.

Just listening to the music link. Really nice. Never heard of them before.

I'm sure your janitor will appreciate it :D

Mars Lasar is a new age artist. I don't like all of his stuff, but the music he's done having to do with Nature is quite good.

Oh, I just went out to see how the temps were here: 25C / 77F :P

19. I understand
We don't normally get freezing temps until December here. Someone posted yesterday that North America is supposed to have a colder winter than normal. I'll believe it when it happens.

I was pleasantly surprised at how few named hurricanes happened this year. I hope it keeps up that trend :D

9. Good morning MissH!
Great news about your window! I know how unexpected expenses can be a real pain.

Sheesh . . . it's really cold this morning - 39F. A cup of coffee would go well right now, but I'm seeing my doctor this morning (routine stuff) and I must fast. What a stupid idea! ;)

I wish it was Friday, but it's only Thursday. I don't feel like going into work today, but I must. I did take two sick days off last week, so I really don't have anything to complain about. Maybe it's just that I'm cold and hungry with no coffee.

18. OMG! You are so lucky!
Are you leaving early b/c your brother is visiting? Great reason, I'm sure the two of you have some catching up to do.

I'll be okay once I get myself going. Didn't sleep just too well last night which accounts for some of my blandness this morning.

Have to run a couple errands before work, so I've got to be heading out now.

Wishing you a great day and a great time with your brother.

22. Well
he is only coming around 8pm but I need to tidy up a bit more and I don't want to rush it.

Beside, I haven't been able to get off early two weeks ago on a Friday (as promised by the boss) so I think it is just fair. Also, my boss will be going to the book fair tomorrow afternoon, so I have to be at the library till 4pm. I work tomorrow evening at the groceries store too, so it isn't too bad.

I wish you a great day. And good luck with your doc's appointment

15. Good Afternoon, MissH
the book fair sounds like fun! Baltimore has already had its - I had to miss it because I was sick :-( but my parents worked one of the booths.

I'm glad your window is closing now.

I rewrote the paper again last night. I don't think she can change the topic again since it's due tomorrow.

You might want to pick up some of that spray yourself. A few more treatments and you may not have to replace your window.

47. The late game stinks
7 vs 7 plays 24-min halves as opposed to a full 11 vs 11 with 45-min halves. Hopefully the rain will be gone for the next few days, we need a break, esp. the flood-prone areas and those trying to re-build.

I guess the cat sleeps under the sofa in that big living room.

My bathroom window wouldn't close. It was a rust problem. But the janitor was able to solve it. That way I don't have to spend over €500 for a new window as I was afraid I would have. Not yet at least.

Yep, it was a rather big kitty :D

Even though the other day I saw an ad for a job in D.C. at the German History Association. I once applied for the job over 8 years ago but didn't get it back then. Now I won't apply because I have a safe job here and my condo. Otherwise I would have tried for it again. Oh well, I just come visit

45. Spaghetti al Forno
very simple actually. Cook the spaghetti. Put half of them in a form, put sliced pepperoni on it and sliced tomatoes. Salt and pepper on it and some ketchup. Add the other half of the spaghetti. Cover with grated cheese. Put in the oven and let it there till the cheese is melted and has a nice golden color.

That is how my mom made it when we were living in the GDR. Not much needed and we loved it :D
