Poll question: Will you buy a nook? |
|
Barnes & Noble has unveiled it's new e-book reader the "nook". It competes with Amazon's Kindle which has sold well over 1 million and Sony's version which has sold 500,000.
Many like myself have waited for A.The price to go down and B.Improvements on the original model.
Rumors are that Apple and Microsoft are developing versions that will have more functions than just book reading.

1. I like the idea of these if it gets people to read more... |
|
but I have a habit of bouncing a pencil (eraser end) along the page as I am reading. I don't think I would enjoy doing this as much on a plastic glass surface.

5. I am considering though I am po'd that they don't offer member |
|
discounts on ebooks. Right now their ebook prices are higher than Amazon. At the very least I am not re-upping on my membership which I have had since they first offered it!!!
I don't care about the touchscreen but I do like the user replaceable battery and the memory card to store additional books. I believe the Kindle 2 has neither of these.
I am not an early adopter though so I will wait to see some reviews on it before deciding.

7. Yes, the Apple tablet computer is supposed to be revolutionary... |
|
of course, knowing Steve Jobs it will require you to purchase books through iTunes or something, when universal compatibility would, of course, be the most useful.
