I watched "MILK" last night and I am still upset. I found information about Anita
Bryant and I think I can post it here since it is a business phone.

Anyway if you haven't seen it around 1977 Anita Bryant, former beauty queen and singer started a campaign to overturn the bans on anti-discrimination against gays teaching in schools. I remember this as a teenager but I had no idea how much pain she caused so many people.

And now I just read that because of her efforts, (she was instrumental in the ban) gay people cannot adopt children in Florida. Just last week I watched a show about all the kids in foster homes who grow up and have NO FAMILY. I can't imagine what it is like to not have any parents, (even if they are dead) or siblings. I can't imagine what it would be like to not have a back round that you can remember, even if it was dysfunctional like mine.

So Harvey Milk pretty much became involved in politics because of her and became the first openly gay politician in the US. He was a Supervisor for San Fransisco. The story is so good I don't want to tell it even though it is all based on facts that you can find on the net.

Anyway, I feel like saying something to Ms Bryant. I called the number and it was her on the answering machine.

The number for "Anita Bryant Ministries" 405 606 2264

The article I just read that made my blood boil

"Like Satan Anita Bryant keeps coming back"

In the article they have the video where she gets hit in the face with a pie. After she started to pray for the man who did it but then left in tears. Her husband went out and hit him with the same pie he refiled with the whipped cream.

Anyway, conservapedia doesn't mention her husband hitting the man or her crying. It just says she prayed for him.

1. I suggest watching "The Times of Harvey Milk" documentary...
... while "MILK" is still fresh in your mind.

It's an outstanding documentary narrated by Harvey Fierstein, and it's is a tear-jerker just like the movie. You will better appreciate Harvey Milk and Sean Penn for his outstanding portrayal of the man.

The "Times of Harvey Milk" is free to watch on Hulu... http://www.hulu.com/watch/49577/the-times-of-harvey-milk

2. I remember back in '77 thinking what a hateful bitch Ms. Bryant was
but I really did not know of her true involvement until I saw Milk. She truly was disgusting beyond belief. Haven't heard about her lately.
