Poll question: Battle of the Galaxy: Robert DeNiro vs. Al Pacino
If you're like me, it's like asking what finger you'd want cut off.

Don't worry, I put in third choice for you wimps.

8. This is tough, but IMO, Pacino is just more fun to watch...
DeNiro has some really solid performances under his belt ("Taxi Driver," for God's sake), but Pacino has had some roles that really give off a jolt:

Godfather I and II
Dog Day Afternoon
Scarface
Sea of Love
Glengarry Glen Ross
Scent of a Woman
Heat (with DeNiro)
The Insider
Insomnia

Not saying that he's better than DeNiro, it's just different styles of acting, and I find myself drawn more to Pacino's "hotter" style.

9. No way for Pacino
Deniro as Al Capone in the Untouchables-"I want him dead, I want his family dead, I want his house burned to the ground" or with the baseball bat "baseball is a team sport"

10. Scarface puts me to sleep every time
I still haven't made it all the way through it.

:boring:

Ronin, on the other hand gets my attention on a primal level, and the gorgeous Natasha McElhome mmmm mmm good!

12. Pacino is waaaaaay too hammy and way too repetetive...
I always feel like in every role I see him in, I'm seeing Pacino doing Pacino's stock role.

Deniro has a lot of samey roles but then again he has some where he is unrecognizable. And he understands the concept of underplaying a role, something Pacino has always lacked.

19. He often is, but he definitely can underplay a role.
One of his best more recent performances was in "Donnie Brasco." I thought he should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for that role. It was an excellent performance, and it was so underplayed that it was overlooked.

22. The only time he wasn't Pacino in recent time was when he was up against
Bobby in Heat. And I don't mean in a sexual manner.

13. deniro's raging bull tops anything by pacino
he is so damn good in that you are afraid he might come out of the screen and beat the ever living shit out of you.

but i do like pacino and he can play light comedy where bobby d can't.

the thing is, that with deniro, it doesn't seem like he is acting, but is the character, whereas with pacino, except for scarface, and godfather 1 and 2 al is just acting

14. Deniro is consistantly better
in terms of the movies he makes. Pacino might very well be a little bit more talented but he's been in some stinkers lately.

18. I'm a wimp. They're both so good, I can't decide.
And I'm being good by not letting looks color my vote. If I did, I'd have to go for Pacino--he's so hot in a lot of his movies.
