7. She (he?) is indeed pretty. For a spider, ha ha.

I am pleased and honored that a European spider has taken up residence at my humble home.

Female European Garden Spiders have the right idea; from your link:

"The much smaller male will approach the female cautiously in order to mate. If not careful, he could end up being eaten by her."

That's right... approach with caution! And a box of high quality dark chocolates wouldn't hurt your chances either, mister. :7

8. Eeeek!

Yeah, I am working very hard at overcoming my primal aversion to spiders. So far I make myself get up close and really look at them. Then if they are in the house I catch and release them... surreptitiously, in my neighbor's yard, ha ha.

I am still kind of freaked out by the ones that can jump, and the ones that have moogly eyes.

9. Its fur was such a bright red that at first I thought it had a ladybug sitting on top of it,

riding it like a cowgirl, lol! That's what drew my attention.

I'm glad it sat still for the photo, I did my OP quick and then went out for another look and it was gone.

12. It's a South American Nocturnal Brain Eater.
But, there's no reason to worry about it.

Really.
