Firefox Users - Post your favorite Add-ons!
Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 12:45 PM by Blue-Jay
I'm digging the CoolPreviews Add-on right now. It really makes things quicker and easier, especially Google searches. Highly recommended.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2207

CoolPreviews is all about browsing faster. The customizable preview window lets you preview or browse just about any link without ever leaving your current page or tab. No more need to click in and out of tabs.

BROWSE FASTER
* Preview web links, images, and videos without leaving your current page or tab.
* Automatically subsearch Google, Wikipedia, and others by right-clicking on any phrase
* Temporarily bookmark items to the right column with our unique "stacks" feature
* Instantly send links to friends and family with just a click.
* View Google & Yahoo Image Search in full-screen mode

FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE
(See the Preferences button on the preview pane)
* Control how the preview window opens, i.e. mouseover icon on/off, etc.
* Control the sensitivity of the preview window
* Toggle previews on/off on any specific site (click our icon on your browser status bar)

Brought to you by the developers of Cooliris, the popular addon that transforms your browser into a 3D Wall for simply the fastest way to browse photos and videos.

1. Thanks for the heads-up...
I just downloaded it.

My new favorite is "Read It Later."

Read It Later allows you to save pages of interest to read later. It eliminates cluttering of bookmarks with sites that are merely of a one-time interest.

3. Be careful with that one.

What it simply does is loading pages in the background (caching them), so when you hoover over them, the preview occurs. But it also works for executable commands, forms, etc. on any website. It triggers them in advance.

Try it on 'hide thread' for example. See if the thread just vanishes even without clicking on it. ;)

I prefer 'Flashblock.' Makes any flash content show up when I want, and this includes youtube videos. No more rickrolls for me:

4. I just tried the mouseover with "Hide Thread".
It doesn't automatically trigger the function until you make an additional click on the little magnifying glass icon that pops up, so it won't do anything accidentally.
