If this were based on a similar premise with innovation added, I'd be more inclined to watch.
The lastest remake, "V", also shows how sloppy hollywood has become - from pacing down to story structure, with loosely-associated topical gibber because people can't think outside their box.
Sir Ian Mckellan is a great actor, but that is not enough to watch. I played the "I will follow everything an actor is in" drool shtick 20 years ago. :)
