Okay, I just watched parts of "Crash" for the first time, and I have to say... |
|
that the bit with the girl jumping in front of the bullet is every bit as unforgivably cheesy as the dog in Independence Day miraculously jumping out of the way of the firestorm.
I don't care how good or bad the rest of the film might be; that one moment alone makes it unwatchable.

1. Okay, now you need to see Crash |
|
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115964/:P (I've never seen either, and don't have much interest...)

2. Saw that one in the theater, as a matter of fact |
|
Didn't much care for it. It seemed kind of forced and artificial: not Cronenberg's best work.
But at least it didn't have a dog-escapes-firestorm moment.

8. It had Holly Hunter NEKKID in it so that made up for the rest of the movie being a disaster... |

I thought the movie was OK, just didn't think it captured the feel of the book

|

because the rest of that movie is full of completely unrealistic situations and happenstances.

6. Well, I really liked it and saw it at the theatre when it first came |
|
out. I'm normally very, very picky about feasibility and things along those lines but for some reason this movie really struck a chord with me.

7. That movie to me was like... |
|
listening to almost three hour of feed back while tied to a chair and being forced to watch Rumsfeld strip.
I found that movie to be one of the most pretentious stinking piles of a script ever.

10. Jumping in front of a bullet? |
|
*spoiler*
There were no bullets in the gun. The gun was loaded with blanks. When she asked for the red box of shells in the gun shop she knew damned well they were blanks. The gun shop owner acted like she was an idiot, but she knew exactly what she was choosing. She didn't trust her hot headed father with a gun. Plus, after working in the morgue, she did not want to contribute to another death.
That was not a point blank miracle by any stretch.
