Do people actually wear lingerie? |
|
Seriously, I've never had a girlfriend that had any, and I'm glad. It seems like a huge waste of time to me. Do people really need sexy underwear that they're going to take off anyway?

"It seems like a huge waste of time to me. Do people really need sexy underwear that they're going to take off anyway?"
Depends on your taste I suppose. Some people like it for themselves, some use it as foreplay or as a fetish thing.

Though that approach also has it's charms. It's good to mix it up a little.

pick up any lingerie catalogue not printed by Victoria's Secret...Fredericks or Venus, for example. There's men's lingerie and I would not be caught dead in any of it...it's hokey and offensive to men. I don't want a plushy fox-head thong where my Johnson goes in a nose-sleeve, thank you. I'll pass on the frilly boxer shorts too, man.
Where is my manly lingerie? I want pleather and steel accoutrement and tartan patterns. Manly shit. Stuff with "Jackhammer" macraméd across the arse. Manly materials like corduroy, tweed, denim, and burlap (okay, maybe we'll pass on the burlap.)

both of them wore silk lingerie. Nice stuff but not particularly sexy. They had a hard time finding clothes they could wear with out a bad and itchy reaction. Obviously neither of them were wearing sexy lingerie for me. They both complained about how expensive silk stuff i.
My wife has a collection of very sexy flannel pajamas, she agrees with your views. For me there's nothing more sexy than a warm and comfortable woman.

but I finally got it. :D The last lingerie I got was for my 31st birthday. When I opened the box I was underwhelmed but tried to convince my boyfriend I really really liked it (I wasn't nearly as liberated as I thought back then). For weeks afterwards I felt this strange undercurrent of hostility that I could not put my finger on. It was literally a few years before I figured out why I had been so irritated with the gift -- it wasn't for me, it was for him! :D
My sister's ex-hubber gave her a crockpot for her birthday -- in front of us both he actually said something about hoping it would inspire her to make more wonderful soups for him. I immediataly fired back, "So, it really wasn't a gift for her, it was for you!"

I'm not a big fan of being fully dressed at home and can be pretty picky about the fit and feel of clothes so there are certain types of lingerie I like but it's definitely a proceed with caution type of gift.

she was really in the swimwear business, did a little lingerie on the side. Our second bedroom was full with a cutting table and several industrial sewing machines.
She was her own fitting model, and I helped her with it, as I have a design background. The female body is a very complicated thing to fit.
No lingerie is wasted. All lingerie is wonderful.

My wife wear lingerie most nights. She enjoys wearing it. she buys it far more often than I buy it for her. To me, what you wear is entirely up to a person. I prefer jeans on weekends and sweatpants at night. This makes me happy, so I don't really consider a pair of Levis or sweats a waste of time or money. My wife seems to like the way satin/silk/lace feels and the way the lingerie she buys makes her look and feel. In my mind, there are so few things in our lives that we have control over, clothing choice is one of them. Do what makes you happy. If sexy underwear makes you feel good, go for it. In my mind, not a waste of time at all.

a person who can wear many costumes and be many people or a person who can't be arsed...not much of a choice there, i'll take the person who has a wardrobe and the creativity to use it every time
can't imagine having more than one date with someone who thinks it's a huge waste of time to invest time and effort in teasing before they please...
