Someone on another thread in the 04 forum gave that amount for the symbolism of it (eight-six = dump, forty-three = Bush) and I liked it and did the same. Talked a few friends into doing the same. If I get some more work I'll give the same amount again as often as I can afford it.

Always said the first thing I would do getting a job would be to contribute to the Dem candidate. I did. Wish it was more, but a lot of bills to make up (employed three weeks so far).

To be fair, I do want to contribute to some other candidates and related causes. For example, I always try to give a little to Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY). I also will probably give something to Barack Obama in the near future.

$50 some time over the summer (before Clark entered), and $50 last week. I'll see what I can spare after books and bills at the end of the month. (Yes, books come first. You DON'T want to see a bibliovore going through withdrawal, trust me on that.)

& will donate again. I encourage EVERYONE to give as much as they can afford, even if its only $5 a month (or just $5) If everyone who wants to see restore honor, dignity and HONESTY to the White House gave $5, we'd have more money for the campaign than Bush does! There are more of than there of them!

30. I found out on Friday that I owe over $1,500 in state and federal

taxes (boy, that Bush tax cut sure is workin' for me) - single, no dependents, rent, and I can't itemize. However, I'm still going to send Kerry's campaign at least $20 every month.
