1. I give my dog a stocking with toys and treats.
If I have a toy that's too big for her stocking I'll wrap it up and put it under the tree.

This is only Sophie's second Christmas and she knows already which stocking is hers.

2. One gift - usually catnip
SantaPuss always leaves a little catnip in the stockings for the varmints.

3. Our dogs are our kids
so they get a bit spoiled. And Bella even more so than my old Lab because she had so little in life until she came to live with us.

This year she's getting a couple of Go Dog toys with ChewGuard technology. Last year, I didn't spend more than a dollar or two on her toys because she chews up everything. This year I found these toys and she really hasn't been able to chew it up so fast so she's getting a couple more.

And bully bones. I found some for $1.75 ea so she's getting 10 of those (they go for $5 in the stores!) That'll last her a few months.

Both Beau and Bella "get" ("got") Christmas. My old Lab used to get halfway down the stairs and peek around the corner at the tree and gifts then barrel down the rest of the stairs to his stocking.

Bella showed signs of getting it even faster with her first Christmas last year. I have it on film - half way down, peeks around the corner then bounds down to the tree and gifts. Hopefully she'll figure out which gifts are her this year so she doesn't start chewing open dad's again. :)

12. It's dark but I'm looking at software
to tweak video so maybe I will. I'll definitely be downstairs again this Christmas to see if she'll do it this year and will post it if she does.

I'll see what I can do with last year's version and let you know if I put it up. Thanks.

19. Ok, it's short and dark but
watch the top of the stairs for her appearance and pause. The running down to check out her presents is pretty obvious. :)

Hopefully, I'll get better video this Christmas since I got a better camera for Christmas last year. :)

(PS - thanks for encouraging - I feel invisible on this board most of the time.)

9. Indeed
They will love it!

I'm not much of a cook so no leg of lamb here but I will definitely be sharing my Christmas 'feast' with my girl, Sophie.

15. We always got our dogs a present for the holidays even when
we didn't buy for each other. This year it is sad because we will probably not do so. They have gotten old and no longer really play with their toys. One of them is on a very restricted diet due to food allergies and digestive problems, so both of them are on the diet. No more dog treats or special foods. Green beans are the only treat they are allowed.

Maybe I will talk my daughter into getting them something like a new stuffed animal to tear apart or something.

24. Lots of new toys! They love presents.
They tear off the wrapping paper and run around with their new toys, then they fight over them. Just like kids. ;)
