One of our kitties is headed toward her great reward.... |
|
14 years old, was my MIL's and we took her in after going the nursing home beckoned...
Lovable cat that suddenly had to put up with 4 much younger kitties...
They battled and fought and MrsWCGreen made her the special cat sdo she was protected and acted like it...
Yesterday, she stopped eating. She is still drinking but her breathing has gotten shallow. She isn't in any pain her body is shutting down and it's her time...
I piled up a whole mess of our sox's around her and even found a couple of Betty's so she could feel us all around her.
She is at peace.
Still it is sad to loose a pet you've known for 14 years.
I am crying now...

Big hug.
I lost my almost-14-year-old kitty four years ago yesterday. I still miss her badly.

:(
Have you spoken to a vet in case there is something going on that isn't really a terminal problem?
If it is terminal, I hope she goes peacefully and without any pain.

This all came on late last night and I thought she was getting better.
I'm going first thing in the AM...
On Edit...
I'm not holding out that much hope.
I will bring her home to die in peace...

3. I've had two make it to 15 years. My current boy is 12 1/2 and showing his age. |
|
He's also always been fat and lazy. Sweet thing, but food is his main concern.

Some say our pets are only that, a pet, but most of us take them into our hearts and make them a part of our lives and families. And when something happens to this member of our family it pains us almost/just as much as it would if they were human.

She will pass peacefully, and without pain, I hope...
Hugs to you for taking such good care of her, for giving her a home when your MIL could no longer care for her...
Safe passage to the sweet kittie...

If it turns out that the vet can't do anything for her, it is best for her to be home. Best wishes to all of you.

14. I firmly believe that cats can sense those things |
|
When I had an 18-year-old kitty with terminal kidney disease, all the other cats were very subdued in her final days. They knew, somehow.

..but it's necessary. I've done it myself. I wish you all the comfort in the world as you do what is best for your cat. As hard as it is, it's a small price to pay for all the good they do us.
