1. I miss all the folks who bailed.

Just not enough to join Facebook. I'm not blaming them, tho. They felt they had cause and acted on it.

3. Did they bail? I hope not. I haven't been having as much fun on DU as I used to.

I wonder if it's the same for others? I had a feeling years ago that when we finally took back the White House, the Democratic Underground's reason for being (comfort and consolation for disaffected liberals and Dems) would vanish. And that DU would fall apart, like the Boulder Free Zone at the end of "The Stand".

Maybe it will be time for me to bail soon, too. I've been here for eight years, and DU is a part of my life. But that part of my life has been inextricably bound up in the relationships I've had with other members. The friendships I've made, and the good times I've had with the Loungers. If those friends are gone, there will not be much reason to stay.

I'll stay for a while; for as long I can, actually. I can never thank Skinner and the Admins enough for providing this place of safe haven and hope. I hope to see more of my friends around here soon...
