Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to all my fellow DU'ers..what did you guys |
|
have to eat for Christmas? Our family did something unusual this year and instead of the traditional turkey we had two prime ribs ( roasting out on those rotiserries ) crab-stuffed mushrooms, homemade crabcakes, white asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes, and grilled mushrooms ( with a white balsamic ) to top off the prime rib...and some "friendship bread" my sister made..which is kind of like a fruit cake, only it actually tastes fucking AWESOME.....oh, and biscuits....LOTS of biscuits....
How was everyone else's Christmas feast? What did you have to eat?

We also had a very nontraditional dinner...I made a terrific 9 bean soup, complete with ham hocks, stewed tomatoes, celery, lemon juice, and various spices! There was also a tossed green salad, and some sourdough French bread. For dessert, home-made pumpkin pie with either whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream...
Your dinner sounds really truly yummy!

2. Hi Peggy!!! That does sound delicious...I'm a sucker for bean soup, especially |
|
when the ham hock is cooked with it ( I'm only assuming it was? ) but yeah...our family rarely eats crab-stuffed mushrooms..my nephew recently got a job as a bouncer at a Center City Philly bar and apparently he got the recipe for these mushrooms from this place...he decided to make them on his own...they were a hit!!!
Here's to you and yours this day and a Happy New Year, My Love!!!! :D
