I've had an irregular heartbeat all day...
It happens, and my doctor knows. Holiday stress is what he thinks...I have no idea.

It just went back to whatever passes for normal about 10 minutes ago.

It's so good to not be aware of my heart beating faster than normal, and to the point where I can feel it.

What a relief.

:hi:

1. Hi Peggy
I know we aren't supposed to give medical advice, but... do you eat bananas? The potassium in bananas seem extremely helpful to people with that condition... even if you only eat 1/2 a banana per day. Just a suggestion.

Hope the stress eases now that Christmas is over. Take care of yourself!

2. My dear Haole Girl...
I've talked to my doctor about this, and he knows what meds I take...

It doesn't happen very often. I don't usually keep bananas around either...

But I sure as heck appreciate your help, sweetie!

22. I have an irregular heartbeat
and I am recommended to eat an orange or banana a day because of something (medication or illness?). I choose the orange most days due to the banana being a bit binding, if you know what I mean. I don't always do it, especially during the Holidays when others are here all day and other food is so abundant.

I also sometimes have to take stress medication to ease my heart rate down and to be able to sleep at night. Somehow I can manage to sleep during the daytime quite nicely. Sleepless nights must be caused the panic disorder I have. ;)

Though sometimes too acidic for me to eat every single day.

37. I agree....
oranges are too acidic. It is better to switch between them and bananas I guess, although I tend to just skip them both at times. This all just gets old after a while. Oh well, I just got the too much medicine, too much things to think about blues. ;)

6. CAPeggy - I hope you're better! I've had panic attacks in the
past which include major irregular heartbeats and I know how scary it can be. I remember that you've been a nurse so it's good to know that you can kind of monitor yourself. Please take care of yourself and keep me posted.

I've never had a panic attack, but I've heard how scary they are. And yes, I was an RN, and not too long ago either...

Plus my doctor is a very cool guy, and he's aware of the situation.

I know when to call for help, believe me!

Thanks, sweetie...

I was going to give the routine "Make sure your doctor knows it's happening, stay on whatever meds you take, ease up on stress" etc etc, but you know all that already! Take care, it's scary no matter what. And I really enjoy your poetry and photography.

Wish I could give you one now, but maybe you already have these herbal things.

25. Anxiety......The docs scared the you know what outta me...
over that. All it was was stress.

Find a way to relieve or eliminate some of the stress and poof, you are cured.

I called them, they made a huge deal out of it, everyone else made a huge deal out of it, then I made a huge deal out of it till it ruined my life. They gave me pills, they made everything worse. I told him I did not like them and he told me to double the dose. AND STOP SMOKING POT!)

6 weeks later my life was over.

Now, I still have some of the stress of life but eliminated a good portion of it (like the holidays)and (i do smoke and eat a lot of pot!)driving, and other stressful things as much as possible.

There for a while I was driving, spending hours and hours on the freeways in traffic. Most during Rush Hour. Two of my episodes came after a trip in traffic. So now when I am driving or travelling, I plan to avoid traffic. No rush hour driving unless I am going the opposite way. No toll plaza backups, I just leave early enough to avoid that shit.

Seriously. It changed my life from daily bouts of arrhythmia to no worry. Not a worry!

I suggest that you check out Dr. Sinatra's cardiac protection protocol on the Internet. Especially his list of supplements for heart health. CoQ10, magnesium, etc.

even though I have NEVER suffered from arrhythmia. I think the doctor put it in simply because he knew Medicare would pay for it.
