At Christmas time, we bake cookies for many friends and family members. It started when we were having hard times could not afford to give many presents. Now it is a family tradition.
One of the types I make is a no-bake cookie that looks like a Christmas wreath. The base is like Rice Krispies treats, with melted butter and marshmallows. Then you add green food coloring, vanilla and corn flakes. When the corn flakes are coated, you butter your fingers and form the mixture into little wreaths on sheets of waxed paper. Place a few red hot candies on them to represent the holly berries, and they are done.
I burned out on these cookies years ago, but my husband loves them. Children seem to love them, too. They do make a colorful and creative addition to a plate of assorted Christmas cookies.
My daughter and I put a couple of plates of cookies together for her to take to her law office. She said, "Don't put any wreaths on the plates. The other cookies disappear in about thirty seconds, but they won't touch the wreaths. I don't think they know what those are, so they are suspicious of them."
I said, "Lawyer repellent! Eureka! I have invented lawyer repellent!"

I have an attorney trying to make my work life miserable. I'd love to send her a platter of those wreaths!
