2010: Will you call it 'Twenty ten' or 'Two thousand and ten"?
Whether or not one believes in linguistic relativity – the idea that the concepts inherent in a given culture’s language affect not only the quality of experiential phenomenon, but also how one thinks and behaves – it goes without saying that whether one sees the glass as “half-empty” or “half-full” reveals something about the way that person interprets the world, at least in a given moment.

So what will 2010 bring? That perky, optimistic, back-in-the-saddle feel conveyed by the zippy term “Twenty ten,” or the how-much-longer-will-this-crap-go-on feel conveyed by longwinded references to “Two thousand and ten”?

3. I dunno about optimistic
But "twenty ten" is consistent. We say nineteen ten, eighteen ten, etc. So this is my new year's resolution, to stick with "twenty ten".

7. 2K10
I heard my local morning anchor refer to it as Two-Kay-Ten the other day and I nearly spit out my beverage.

10. When I read it, it's twenty-ten. So I figure that's my preference.
But I'm pretty sure I'll use both.

19. I'll say 20-10 but the following year I'll say 2000-11. The year after that I'll say 20-12.
After that I'll say 2000-13, 2000-14, 2000-15 ... until I get to 20-20

21. I will call it "two thousand ten" - the use of "and" in a number denotes a decimal.
To use "and" in a number where there is not a decimal is a sign of mathematic illiteracy.
