HELP ME NOT TO HAVE A COOKY
I just had a tuna sammach and sweet potato fries, and now my cow-irker tells me her boss brought the cooky tray back from his meeting.

The cookies are calling me . . . tell me why I should not have a cooky.

1. My dear Bertha!
OK...

You just had a wonderful, healthy lunch. Your tummy is happy, and so is your body...

You. Do. Not. Need. A. Cookie. Period.

It's too many calories, too much fat and salt...

And those are things that will keep you from losing the weight you want and need to lose.

Does that help?

3. I almost always want a bite of something sweet after lunch
but I find that when I do, the inevitable sugar crash hits, and I feel like I won't make it through the work day.

So... my recommendation is to avoid the cooky. You'll feel better for the rest of the afternoon.

4. Your higher brain is in charge.
Your lower brain says, that cookie, in the moment you are eating it, will taste good, and that feels good. After that, it is doing you no good. Your higher brain knows that, and it. Is. In. Charge. :D

5. Because they're not homemade cookies
So, they aren't worth the empty calories. Exceptions made for a good independent bakery, like the German one in the town where I grew up. In that case, wrap it in plastic and save it for tomorrow.

11. Save the calories for something you'll really enjoy.
I think of it as banking calories for some of your fav foods.

15. Try gum
satisfies the sweet craving most of the time. Of course there's a whole different set of baggage with gum
