I am not impressed with Alabama's offense.
5 McElroy sacks? Do you really think it would be an 18 point game with McCoy in the game?

Ingram, on the other hand, is a great RB.

1. Touch down.
Try to win the game.

2. Texas seems impressed.
The big disappointment of this game will be the Texas fans claiming that it's somehow illegitimate because they lost their quarterback who was more worried about his NFL future than winning the championship. Alabama played a great game after getting a rough start.

3. If I was McCoy I don't know what I would do.
Honest.

We are looking at a lot of money.

Dad is there to.

4. Not really.
I would assume that, if we put that 22 year-old back into the game, and he gets severely injured after getting hit in his shoulder, that it's a good thing for McCoy? Seriously, screw that attitude. It was the same for Bradford after HE got knocked out during Texas-OU. He got out, got healthy, and now has a future.

5. that's an odd assumption
I can understand how fans could get pissed about McCoy, but to consider this game illegitimate? Um...odd.

9. It's already happening.
A lot of IF he had stayed in the game talk. Texas fans will never have to admit they got beat by a better team.

11. well of course people are going to wonder what the outcome would have been...
we're talking about using a true freshman QB for the first time AT the freakin' Rose Bowl! Who wouldn't wonder what would happen if Colt McCoy didn't get hurt early in the game? To say that we would automatically think of this game as "illegitimate" though is still odd.

I'm there with you.

6. They don't look impressed.
Face it, Bama's being exposed as a fraud. They can't move the ball, they've made a lot of errors, they have only scored off flukes and good field position. Texas would be up by 21 if McCoy was playing, and I still think Texas is going to win this game, even with Howdy Doody as QB.

7. And the officials are giving Alabama all the help it needs.
Ignoring interference against Texas, calling phantom interference for Alabama, ignoring constant holding by Bama's line. Even the officials know Alabama looks awful.

28. I thought the officiating was pretty even
There were some missed calls, but they went both ways. Texas's O-line got away with some holding as well.

32. It got better. There was a bad stretch there when I posted that.
Clearly the deciding factor was McCoy not being there. It even affected Bama's offense, as Saban tried to burn clock more than move the ball for a while. It changed everything.

Great game, finally. Ingram reminds me of Emmitt Smith. He doesn't look special, but in the end he's killed you. I keep thinking "Why aren't they tackling him, why are they trying those weak arm tackles?" until he kept doing it over and over and I realized he was making them miss. That's exactly what watching Emmitt was like, and he was only (arguably) the greatest RB in the history of the game.

A couple of teams that did themselves proud despite some weak points along the way.

19. You know what? I'm VERY proud of Gilbert right now.
Part of it is pure bias...he graduated from my HS (Lake Travis) - a 4A school btw. To go from Lake Travis to the freakin' ROSE BOWL? Sure, he didn't start strong, but look at this! We're suddenly 3 pts away from taking this.

and THIS is why Texas deserves to be in this game.

20. Yeah, not bad. He's been doing better than the score shows, too.
He had a few dropped passes in the first half where he did everything right. One would have been a touchdown, two would have been key first downs.

30. Texas did themselves proud in the second half
Coming back the way they did without McCoy. Alabama's conservative play throughout the 3rd helped, but they still did a good job taking advantage of the opportunities presented.

I'm not a Texas fan (OU, actually), and I know Texas fans are bound to be disappointed, but I think they have plenty of reason to be proud of their team tonight.
