My ode to toast with butter
Toast
with butter.
If you don't like it
you're a nutter.

Simple.
Savory.
Just a hint of flavory.

Crunchy.
Soft.
I eat it quite oft.

When I've got heartburn
there's no other
food will soothe me
like toast with butter.

1. I love buttered toast.
It always reminds me of Mary Poppins...the book, not the movie. I think I remember the initial description of her said that she always smelled faintly of buttered toast.

2. It just might be
the perfect food.

I've been stressing like crazy and as a result, my heartburn/acid reflux/whatever is flaring up. Toast with butter makes it go away, which is good because I am an idiot that refuses to give up her coffee.

6. Oddly enough
I do not own a toaster. I do however, own a George Foreman grill. I lay two slices diagonally on the tray, close the lid and wait until it feels like toast. Turns out to be an excellent toast maker and the occasional bent corners act as a bonus handle!
