Yeah, they were great as a live band. I saw them several times. For FREE, no less. And they are great live.
Better than the most comparable band, 'moe.'
But they were nothing unexplored
Nothing new
But they did give birth to Wilco...and that alone is reason to exist...

I actually prefer Jay Ferrar's voice to Jeff's. Wilco and Son Volt are fine but together - good stuff. I think they did have an originality to them; at least from what was going on at the time. :hi:

Give me the energy of Uncle T any day. Wilco bores me to tears with the excessive wankery and noodling. If I want to listen to Phish, I'll listen to fucking Phish already. At least UT could write, ahem, *songs*. Wilco seems to have forgotten that part of the equation.
