The owners of the five-bedroom, four-bathroom, 2,400-square-foot house — with its rooftop hot tub and New Jersey Italian flag mural — just decided to offer the place for rent for $15,000 a week this summer.
Last summer, MTV rented the house for $85,000 while taping the weekly reality show about eight self-described metro-area “guidos” and “guidettes” (including Long Island’s own Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley) — that amounts to a little more than $10,000 a week. Comparably sized but more modern homes in the community have been renting for about $8,000 to $10,000 a week, says listing agent Mike Loundy of Seaside Realty, who brokered the MTV real estate deal.
Will the owners get their price? Surely the publicity from the hugely popular show can’t hurt — some even getting the perfect vantage point from the ferris wheel to snap shots of the 2,000-square-foot hot tub area on the attached Shore Store’s boardwalk rooftop. “It’s been a very active property,” Loundy says. “There are tons of kids coming by every day taking pictures.”
It’s such a popular destination within the tourist town that there are now “no trespassing” signs in front of the house, says Seaside Heights agent Justin Bosak of ReMax Real Estate LTD.
