Every woman I have ever dated, played with, slept with, cheated with, cheated on, ignored when I should have loved, loved when I should have ignored, etc... has had this album in some form.
I bought it several times. My current copy is in mp3 format.
Trust me, there is something about this album that rings true with every woman, and every man who understands woman.

1. It's her "Sgt. Pepper's," "Sticky Fingers," "Who's Next"... |
|
...one of the few albums that came out of the chute as PERFECTION.
Although some disagree with that, as well as calling the other three albums I named "perfect."
She's obviously had a long and illustrious career as a songwriter and a performer, but "Tapestry?"
That was her MOMENT. Her big, AMAZING moment that eclipsed what came before and what followed without diminishing them at all.

2. Oh yes, its perfect. Every note, every word.... |
|
She knew how to make perfect - she had been there when perfect was made time and time again...
But there's something beyond that...I mean Boston's first album was perfect, note per note and word per word. But it's not Tapestry.

3. A true masterpiece from the greatest female songwriter ever |
|
although the late Ellie Greenwich is up there too, along with Melissa Etheridge.
I still have a schoolboy crush on Carol...and this album rings true with me because it is honest human emotion, beautifully written and and performed. Anyone with a heart and soul, male or female, can ( or should be able to) relate to it.

4. It's as exciting as watching paint dry on a golf course while flies fuck |

5. There's a place for "excitement" and a place for soulful, understated delicacy |
|
But hey, not everybody has the same tastes. If it don't move ya, it don't move ya.

Most singer-songwriter stuff leaves me cold, for whatever reason.

Give me Tapestry & Joni Mitchell's Blue & you have an education of a woman's heart.
