The damn snow has started again in Maryland
More evil white stuff. Just what we fucking needed, with more than 2 feet already on the ground in Derwood.

It started coming down around 4 pm, and heaven knows when it's going to stop.

Or when it's going to finally melt.

We went to get dog food and groceries this morning because we were running very low on supplies. And got a flat tire in the Petsmart parking lot.

:grr:

1. Just started here in PA around 6:10 PM......I'm about 35 miles north and west of Philly.
Went to buy more rock salt this afternoon. Walmart had no salt, no shovels, no snow-related stuff at all left in the store. Found some at a supermarket.

Here we go again.

At least it's better than the mudslides in LA - what a fucking mess that must be!

4. Just started in NJ. I kept kidding my kids and saying it was cancelled, and they went ballistic.
They're hoping for back to back snow days.

5. We are getting freezing rain on top of 21 inches of snow in SW PA.
Schools are closed tomorrow for the the third day in a row. Thousands of people have had no power since Friday. It's bad here.

22. Some do. Some are using generators or kerosene heaters.
We only have a gas fireplace. It didn't keep us warm, but we cooked on it!

Surprisingly, not too many people are at the shelters.

6. you've had a rough day
The snow is kicking our asses down here in So. MD, too.

I hope you get through it safely and warmly. And may the snow melt before March.

12. MadDave replaced the flat right away
but we're using the donut tire until we can get to a tire store and buy a replacement. Sometime next July, I think. ;)

My gosh, it's a total white-out now (12:45 pm Wednesday) At least the wind is blowing some of the piled-up snow off the Leyland cypresses, which have been bent over double since the weekend.

EVERYBODY please stay safe and warm!
May your power stay on.
May your roofs hold up under the weight of the snow.
May you retain your sanity despite being cooped up in this mess.
May your streets eventually be plowed.

May the shadow-seeing groundhog get an icicle shoved up its furry butt.

It's no better here in Annapolis. We still haven't seen a plow from the last storm! Now you can't even tell where our street is (was?), heh. I'm just hoping the power stays on. The streets behind us lost power Saturday morning and didn't get it back til Monday!

Aside from going to the grocery store monday I haven't left the house since Friday...argh! I miss going to work; I've hardly worked any hours since late Jan. and in retail that means no money. Sigh...

My dog is loving the snow though...heh

11. Hey there
I haven't been at work since noon last Friday. At least I get paid though. I lost power from early Saturday (3am) to 9am Sunday. That was pretty bad....

20. My daughter lives in Takoma Park
Five trees got uprooted over the weekend, and fell on the parking lot of their apartment building. A lot of cars got crushed. They were extremely lucky -- one tree missed her boyfriend's car by just 30 inches.

15. In '96 there was a guy in Annapolis with a dog sled and dogs!
He was riding around downtown and, evidently, picked up a few folks' dogs who they wanted to get some exercise on the way. the dog team seemed to change a bit in number and content.

21. The snow is drifting in Arlington.
Though I wish Arlington was drifting south to warmer climes. My bike is driving me nuts pacing back and forth in my tiny flat.

I usually go outside, no matter what the weather. Maybe I'll take a lazy day for a change and sit inside under my sleeping bag with a book. I suspect work will be cancelled yet again tomorrow.

and we did see a plow go by earlier this evening...hopefully we'll see one again tomorrow. :) I am hoping to work a full shift Friday night. It's only 5 hours, but it'll be the longest I've worked since late January.
