Name some celebrities that you like DESPITE their political affiliation.
Or you don't even have to like the celebrity just like the work that they've done. For example

I like Mel Gibsons movies even though he's a crazy motherfucker.

According to this website http://www.larepublicans.com/c-republican_celebrities.html these people are republicans but I still like their work.

Bruce Boxleitner. Its Captain Sheriden!!

Sarah Michelle Gellar. BUFFY!

Bruce Willis!

Mike Judge!

1. Obligatory Gary Oldman shout out
Kelsey Grammar, Patricia whatsherface from Everyone Loves Raymond is hilarious. Norm MacDonald is that rare animal, an actually funny SNL alum.

I could go old school and tip my hat to Bob Hope.

4. Yep
It sucks COMPLETE ASS that he loves Palin. It boggles my mind that an actor of his talent can be so ... stupid. It's one thing to be conservative - ignorant as they can be. But to be enamored of a drooling piece of shit like Palin? If Duvall had ANY sense, he would have abstained from voting if he couldn't bring himself to vote against McCain. But he actually LOVES PALIN. :puke:

I will never view Gus McCrae the same way again, and I LOVE that character.

Funny thing is, he is close friends with liberals like Dustin Hoffman, etc. I wonder how those conversations go.

He didn't just give a one-time "aw shucks, I like her" quote for teevee. He TRAVELED with her, and spoke at rallies, extolling her greateness. :puke:

He was always a bit of a nut - but I had no idea how much until 2008.

12. He was not a paper patriot
Stewart flew as command pilot in the lead B-24 on numerous missions deep into Nazi-occupied Europe. These missions went uncounted at Stewart's orders. His "official" total is listed as 20 and is limited to those with the 445th. In 1944, he twice received the Distinguished Flying Cross for actions in combat and was awarded the Croix de Guerre. He also received the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters. In July 1944, after flying 20 combat missions, Stewart was made Chief of Staff of the 2nd Combat Bombardment Wing of the Eighth Air Force. Before the war ended, he was promoted to colonel, one of very few Americans to rise from private to colonel in four years"

44. Only because they are also "show biz figures"
I very carefully construsted my original statement; go back and check it for yourself. I didn't assign any moral condemnation to Stewart's actions. For some reason, any time I assert that Stewart was a killer, people get really bent out of shape.

Truth be told, some killing is justified, necessary, and inevitable.
It may not be pretty, but it is the truth.
Seems that we are in agreement on that point.

As Nathan Bedford Forrest said,"War means fighting and fighting means killing"
There is no way around that.

16. I like John Perry Barlow (lyricist for the Grateful Dead) -- he was a republican
Though not your typical conservative republican. He was a republican because he lived in Wyoming and felt he could have more influence by having an influence in the Republican Party. But politically he was always liberal (particularly on social issues and the environment).

Odd bedfellows: John Perry Barlow, #2 lyricist for the Grateful Dead and eventual founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, was actually Dick Cheney's campaign manager back in his 1978 campaign for congress. Of course, back then Dick was known as an environmentalist ...

A great show to watch is Inside the Actor's Studio. Seeing Clint on that gave me a new appreciation for him. The show gives you a good look at the people we pay to see, far beyond any quick appearance on the Tonight Show or whatever. Clint came across as pretty cool, craft wise at least. I can respect his approach to movies and movie making big time (he never yells "Cut" for instance...he said as a youngster that just made him more nervous, so for his actors/actresses he just says. "Whenever you're ready" to start and "That's good." when he likes a take).

30. John Malkovitch. I just can't help enjoying his acting. He has to be a great actor to have
done "The Year of Living Dangerously" and "The Killing Fields" and still be a Republican.

I saw him on Broadway on my first major date with my wife, in "A Death of A Salesman" where he played Biff and Dustin Hoffman played Willie. (It was great, and probably was one of the most beautiful nights of my life up until that time.)

I don't know how he could be a Republican and have done that role either. But apparently he is a Republican, and something of a nut case Republican as well.

I have no use though for most of the people on that list, except maybe Robert Duvall, although Duvall mostly plays people who easily could be Republican.

He supported Stevenson & JFK, and marched for Civil Rights. I wish that he hadn't turned as conservative as he did, but I don't think that made him a bad guy. Despite my overall admiration of Michael Moore, the confrontation of Heston at the end of "Bowling for Columbine" was uncalled for.

86. The NRA exploited a sick old alcoholic man...

74. Woods and Miller
Didn't have the courage to stand up for whatn they believed in and swithched sides like cowards. Woods I can tolerate, Miller is now, as we all know, a hack on Faux "News."

76. I don't know if there's any concrete evidence SMG is a Republican
Her husband is, but I'm not so sure she's as conservative.

partly because I'm a fan of some of his movies, partly because my dad looked like him when he was much younger.

85. Patricia Heaton in Everybody Loves Raymond. Not so much in The Middle.
As much as I want to dislike her in ELR, I can't help but admire her consistent performance in that series. Her comedic timing is perfect.
