God, I hate one of my professors.
And this is an online course I'm talking about. We're fighting over having discussions. Apparently she doesn't like the phrase "stir things up" in regards to a comment I made about the crap grade she gave me for not having enough discussions. It's hard to have discussions when the rest of the class sits there and doesn't respond.

I hate teachers who can't adjust to their students needs. Plus, I don't follow the standard american diet which apparently is required for this course. What a crock. I should have taken astroloy.

Yammer yammer yammer. . .

1. Astroloy is difficult to digest.
Principal Design Features: A nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy with substantial additions of aluminum and titanium for precipitation hardening.

Applications: Used for maximum high temperature strength in gas turbine hot section components.

7. Is astroloy considered vegan?
I'm pretty sure it was never a living thing of any kind, and I've never considered eating any type of metal alloy, but that's just me.

I knew a kid in grade school that would eat tin foil, though.

13. That's what is going on here.
Now if it was like DU, I'd be writing paragraphs. But it's boring shit with a bunch of slackers who just want to get through college.

9. I would have to believe you do just fine at online discussions.
:)

My standard method of getting my discussion participation points in for online classes if the rest of the class was unresponsive:

1. Do some online research about any random topic in the reading for the week, post an excerpt or two, cite the reference, give my opinion about that.
2. If someone else posted anything with any substance, I could ask them leading questions about it. Why did you ... How did you feel about ...
3. In the absence of any other inspiration, raise issues of race or gender or poverty casually to *cough* stir things up.

What do you mean though you need to follow the standard american diet for the class? Are you talking actual food? Or media fare?

14. Good suggestions
My diet consists of strange asian type foods not listed in the required food pyramids the course includes. So I have a difficult time listing what I do have during the day. I decided to make shit up.

15. I fully endorse that solution.
Sounds like it will be less work for you, something that's within the comfort zone of the teacher, and you will probably learn as much about the food pyramid as anyone else taking the class.

Some things are hard to classify. Beer, for instance. When I look at the pyramid, I end up having to classify that in the bread group on account of the grains, but it's hard to have just one slice of it. Vodka, I would call that a potato.
