4. I've always been a HUMONGOUS soda-drinker.
.
These days my favorites include Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke w/Lime,
Diet Vernors, Diet A&W Root Beer, and (my absolute favorite) seltzer
water with lime.
.
It's never been so much the taste as it's been the scrubbin' bubbles.
.
They make my mouth feel sparkly porcelain fresh.

7. One they don't make anymore--Snapple Root Beer
I don't know whether only a few Snapple dealers sold it or the stuff was included as bonuses in full cases of other Snapple flavors, but this was a REALLY good clear root beer that was almost impossible to find. I saw it in a few convenience stores in Upstate New York, but it was very unevenly distributed--the Kwik-e-Mart at First and Main might have it once in a while, while the Kwik-e-Mart at Third and Main had it all the time and the Kwik-e-Mart at Fifth and Main never had it--and the same people owned all three stores.

13. Shame I can't get Irn Bru in the stores easly enough over here...
... sure I could get it but the price is a bit steep for a soda that just happens to be imported from Scotland. For that money I'd save up for another of Scotlands' good exports... a good whisky.

Mark.

But the contemporary equivalents just don't taste the same. That is especially true for the last "grape" soda I bought, which tasted so bad I threw most of it away.

I am like MiddleFingerMom - I just love carbonation - love any kind of soda, really. Coke and homemade lime are probably my favorites, but they are all good. That is why I only buy them once in a while. I get by with iced tea for my caffeine and about 1/10th the sugar.

61. None now. But I used to. Advancing years may be the reason.
As a kid in the south I grew up on Cokes.
And RCs. (Royal Crown Cola)
And Dr. Peppers.

Buffalo Rock Ginger Ale was also a favorite.

It's darker and more 'gingery' than stuff like Canada Dry.
"Formulated in 1901 as an experiment with ginger to relieve stomach ailments, Sid Lee’s ginger tonic was found refreshing in the sweltering summer heat. With the addition of carbonation, this new soda became a household name in Birmingham, Alabama."

Over the last several years I find that soft drinks, sodas, colas, tonics, whatever they call them in your neck of the woods, are way too sweet for me.

If I'm not having wine with dinner (or another Scotch) I prefer water or iced tea.
