Anyone good with computers? I need help |
|
So my computer has a nasty habit of not turning back on when it gets shut off. At first, leaving it unplugged for 5 minutes or so would fix the problem, but as time went on so did the time it took to turn back on. The problem started in august, and by september it was taking over 24 hours of leaving it unplugged before it would turn back on. So eventually I decided just to leave my PC turned on. I left it on for about 2 months straight, until a power outage caused it to turn off. After that it took over a month to turn back on. So last week it froze and I had to turn it off (after being left on for almost 3 months), and I'm hoping it will turn back on in the next few weeks.
Is there any reason that it has to "recharge" by being left turned off for so long?

1. My first thought is to replace the powersupply. |

They don't cost very much, but if you don't feel you can do it yourself, find a shop you can trust to replace and install a new one.
That advice is for a desktop computer. I have no idea if it applies to laptops or not as I don't own one...
