Zebra escapes from Barnum & Bailey circus, wanders into downtown Atlanta

ATLANTA -- A zebra was found wandering on the downtown Connector Thursday afternoon.

When CBS Atlanta's Sky Eye arrived over the scene around 5 p.m., officials had captured the animal, which did not appear to be hurt.

Officials with Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey circus, which has been performing at Philips Arena, said the animal is theirs. Crystal Drake, a circus representative, told CBS Atlanta that the zebra escaped from enclosures near the lower level parking of Philips Arena.

The zebra was placed on a large truck to be taken back to the arena.
