My attempt at religious art

[Rising Phoenix]

Inspired by my mothers upcoming birthday I have been drawing some images of the Virgin Mary for her. In my research I became fascinated by the different approaches and vibes that all come from this one well known subject.

I love my art space at the time, the holy mother on top of the naked chic from my copy of Inked.....so I took a pic


My newest versions are becoming more abstract and some even quite sexy, but I think my mother was enjoying my somewhat brief phase of art with no nudity and no abstracts.

ps. the little pink heart on the bottom left will be that tattoo I get in honor of my mother, very small, on my left hand by bottom of the thumb. I am currently placing it in all the work I do for her.

I like the first one too. The second attempt was not really meant as a gift for her, I just wanted to try a somewhat realistic approach to the subject, so the feeling really wasn't there, just an artistic exercise. But I think it came out ok.
