Another poorly-named product... |

Just heard an ad on TV for a heartburn drug named "AciPhex." Unfortunately, it's pronounced "ass effects." Kinda got my attention.

2. I worked for a company that where the marketeers decided to call the new version of software DFX. |
|
The "X" was supposed to mean "Version 10" of the product abbreviated "DF". Obviously none of the marketeers pronounced it out loud. Say it and you'll understand. We were all LITERALLY rolling on the floor laughing. Do you have to flunk a competency test to go into marketing?

3. I don't know if this is the case |
|
But alot of drug names are regulated by the FDA based on chemical formula. It's POSSIBLE they did not have a choice of the name ..( this was told to me be a coworker after I mentioned the aforementioned drug)

4. You know about the two new ED drugs, right? |
|
The FDA just signed off on the NDAs for two new ED drugs. They assigned names to them both: the first is Urdixadrupen, the other is Mycoxaflopen.
