Water in the desert.
I took my daughter and her friend hiking at Catalina State Park, last weekend. There's still enough snowmelt in the Santa Catalinas that the Canada del Oro Wash is running beautifully. Our hike took us across the water about five times. What a wonderful day.

1. What a nice spot there.
Looked like a perfect day for hiking. It actually reminds me of a few places I've known over the years.

Nice shot.

You sure appear to be a happy soul.

Cheers.

5. A day like that, in a place like that...
...gratitude is the word that comes to mind.

2. I have yet to make it over there
You make a convincing case on why I should, and soon. That looks like prime hiking terrain.

6. A number of trails there.
If you're a seasoned hiker, I believe you can get all the way up to Mount Lemmon or over to Sabino Canyon. Not sure of those distances, though.

If you go to the following site, you can scroll down for some trail map links: http://azstateparks.com/Parks/CATA/map.html :hi:

7. Oh, am I ever embarrassed, LOL
I thought you were referring to Catalina Island in CA, which is very close to where I am, LOL. It has mountains too, and because of the wet winter we had, I could see it having a stream or two.

I used to live up in Flagstaff, but never made it down to the parks un southern AZ. :-)

9. I was gonna say...
...not to wait because the water won't be flowing much longer. But Catalina Island is beautiful, too. :)

3. Is it still open?
I think it is one set to close pretty soon.

So nice to see water for a change!

4. So far, the word is that Catalina will remain open.
It's getting lots of use, which equals plenty of fees being collected, especially since Oracle State Park was closed.
