Edited on Sat Mar-20-10 05:23 PM by Gormy Cuss
If you could choose pets from one (and only one) of the following categories, which would you choose?

1. I hate pets.....for the next hour or so
One of the cats puked on the nice rug (funny she never yaks on the cheap one), the dog just made a huge mess and is acting insane (he needs a rest from the cats...coming Monday), the aquarium has salt creep spreading faster than I can clean.

So, for the next hour or so, I am locked in my office and am not a fan of the pets.

2. It's Spring. I can tell because the cat's puking hairballs.
Cats do have rather refined tastes in puking locations. First preference seems to be a soft surface that can't be machine laundered.

3. And a material which permanently stains if you even touch it.
How cats know this is a great mystery.

4. They communicate
through the cat-ternet.

6. I see. Well, that explains that middle distance stare and
the sudden freaky leap half way to the ceiling.

Or they're just nuts -- could go either way.

8. There is only one carpet in my apartment,
the floors are laminate, and kitchen is linoleum, bath is tiled.

Whenever Mosche needs to throw up, he runs like crazy until he reaches the carpet and then "huacccchhh, huaccchhh". Never once has one of my cats puked on an easily cleanable surface.

Oh, for a while the bed was a favorite.... there you are, dead-tired, don't bother turning on the light, throw your clothes on the floor, collapse onto your bed and quickly come to about a five-foot hover above it, tired no longer.

9. Yuck. The bed "presents" aren't charming either.
At least the linens are easy to wash.

I remember reading that cats go for soft surfaces because outside they'll bury their product, and the instinct to find a soft place is retained even though they can't and usually don't even try to bury it indoors.

5. I voted "cats," but I have two dogs. Stupid allergies.

7. I have two dogs, a cat and a parrot. Somehow I seem to keep the balance right there.
It's dust and fur intensive, but it's warm and alive and interesting.
