Favorite movie villian?
I would say Heath Ledger's portrayal as the Joker is up there for my favorites.

2. I don't remember his name...
But it was the guy who won the Oscar for best supporting actor this year in Inglourious Basterds.

He MADE that movie, which is what a really good villain does.

Heath Ledger is right up there too...

42. I agree. He was really horrid.
My others are Tim Roth as Archibald Cunningham in Rob Roy and one I just saw on Masterpiece Theater the other night. That one was Toby Stephens as General Dodd in Sharpe's Challenge. That last one stayed with me the whole next day. Pretty violent.

16. "...Eventus stultorum magister..."

Johnny Ringo: (Ringo steps up to Doc) And you must be Doc Holliday.
Doc Holliday: That's the rumor.
Johnny Ringo: You retired too?
Doc Holliday: Not me. I'm in my prime.
Johnny Ringo: Yeah, you look it.
Doc Holliday: And you must be Ringo. Look, darling, Johnny Ringo. The deadliest pistoleer since Wild Bill, they say. What do you think, darling? Should I hate him?
Kate: You don't even know him.
Doc Holliday: Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.
Wyatt Earp: He's drunk.
Doc Holliday: In vino veritas.
("In wine is truth" meaning: "When I'm drinking, I speak my mind")
Johnny Ringo: Age quod agis.
("Do what you do" meaning: "Do what you do best")
Doc Holliday: Credat Judaeus apella, non ego.
("The Jew Apella may believe it, not I" meaning: "I don't believe drinking is what I do best.")
Johnny Ringo: Eventus stultorum magister.
("Events are the teachers of fools" meaning: "Fools have to learn by experience")
Doc Holliday: In pace requiescat.
("Rest in peace" meaning: "It's your funeral!")
Tombstone Marshal Fred White: Come on boys. We don't want any trouble in here. Not in any language.
Doc Holliday: Evidently Mr. Ringo's an educated man. Now I really hate him.

36. OH! OH! OH!
some tiny outdoor scene from that movie was filmed here on the ranch!

I never figured out what or where and maybe they cut it out, but we got paid!

Funny tidbit - they didn't want to travel all the way to the real Tombstone area for filming. (which is only another 30 miles)

Played by Javier Bardem in "No Country For Old Men."

Methodical, unemotional, lethal, with a twisted sense of chance and fate. Occasionally has sympathy for his victims, but feels his crimes are predetermined and demanded by fate.

Creepy.

30. Yeah, I thought of him, too. Underappreciated performance. But Bush wasn't president.
The film came out in 2000, Bush took office in 2001.

I thought he should have gotten the Oscar, but damn that was a good year for supporting actors. Jeff Bridges, Albert Finney, Willem Dafoe, and Benecio Del Toro (who won).
