Adventures of Philip Marlowe, Jack Benny (unbelieveably
tightly orchestrated anarchy), The Lives of Harry Lime (with
Orson Welles), X Minus One, Have Gun Will Travel (sorry, no
sign of Jack Palance's butt) and Quiet, Please are also among
my top choices.

I bought a regular CD of Grand Ole Opry shows for my dad, then bought MP3 CDs of Escape, Inner Sanctum, Screen Guild Players, The Whistler, Mel Blanc Show, Spike Jones, Jubilee, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw for myself.
Thoughts:
If you can possibly get a hold of Jubilee, do so. It was a show broadcast only to black servicemen during WWII (though they invariably referred to their audience as the fighting men of the United Nations). The music is absolutely beyond belief: Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Nat Cole and the King Cole Trio. The comedy is basically straight vaudeville done in jive; eventually Jack Benny and Burns & Allen turn up, and George teaches Gracie how to talk in jive. Up to that point, though, everybody (except for maybe the announcer) is black. The music is amazing, and it also makes for a fascinating, if uncomfortable, cultural document.

Screen Guild Players features a half-hour version of Casablanca with Bogart, Bergman and Henreid (and several hundred Fighting French singing La Marseillaise; what they were doing in Hollywood, I have no guess). Works.

24 hours of Spike Jones and his City Slickers can warp your brain forever.

Escape is intermittently awesome. I have a cassette of two Suspense episodes; it may be even better. I love Raymond, the host of Inner Sanctum (and the bizarre interplay with Lipton spokesperson Mary Bennett; Regis & Kelly in Hell) but the actual stories nearly always suck. The unreliable narrator runs riot.

That Benny Goodman was pretty good. The shows were all flawless. I'm now bewildered as to why the 1938 Carnegie Hall show was so big, because he had been playing like that on the radio for years.

There were quite a few radio theatre versions of famous movies -- some with the original
casts and others with stand-in stars (might have been Jimmy Cagney for Bogart in The
Maltese Falcon).

14. "Sucks" was strong; I shouldn't post before breakfast

The stories were disappointing compared to the host segments. I did like the one where Raymond was involved in the story, but even that one had a somewhat weak ending. (That one was "Dead Man's Vengeance.")

I think I subscribe to almost a dozen old radio show podcasts.

SUSPENSE! is terrific.

I also like the detective shows, especially Pat Novak, for Hire and Jeff Regan, Investigator
I've decided I have a thing for Jack Webb! LOL! These also have the fabulous hard-boiled detective vibe - lots of really awesome similes ("She looked about as happy as a fan dancer in a strong wind.") Great stuff!
