Could I request some of those famous Lounge vibes I've heard so much about? |
|
Not for myself, but for my dad, John. He's having surgery sometime tomorrow morning, though thankfully it's nothing too serious. He's having a couple vertebra fused in an attempt to eliminate some nerve pain in his shoulder. He had a similar surgery a couple years ago, but it wound up not working the way the doctors had hoped, since the shoulder pain returned. So they're fusing a couple vertebra higher up in his neck in hopes that it will eliminate the nerve pain.
If you wonderful people could send some good vibes my father's way and wish him a speedy and successful recovery, I would greatly appreciate it! :hi:

I have a rod between C5/C6/C7. It's done a world of good, thankfully.
Best wishes to your dad in his surgery and recovery. :)

8. I don't remember exactly, but it might be C6/C7 that are getting fused. |

Okay, just checked my Dad's Facebook status, and it's a C3/C4 anterior cervical diskectomy, with decompression of spinal cord and/or nerve roots that he's having done tomorrow.

And to the whole family who surely are waiting and wondering if it'll work well this time. Nerve pain can be excruciating, and best of luck that this will get rid of it once and for all!

I did now so I can send lots of healing vibes to your dad and strength to you. If anyone knows what it's like to need strength for a dad named John, it's me. I will light a candle for him tomorrow morning, too.

20. ***UPDATE*** - Dad's surgery went very well! |
|
He was in and out of surgery in about an hour and a half or so, and he was hope by 2:15pm today. He's been dozing on and off most of the day since then, just relaxing, watching baseball, and eating ice cream. He's up and around, so he's not feeling the effects of his medication too heavily, and now he has a couple of weeks to hang out at home, take naps, and re-watch Battlestar Galactica from beginning to end (courtesy of yours truly).
I just want to thank everyone who sent my Dad positive, healing vibes. It's so wonderful to be part of such a caring, compassionate community that will reach out to send good thoughts and feelings to a complete stranger. I know this gets said a lot around here, but it's absolutely 100% true - YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
Thank you all so, so much. I appreciate the good vibes, as did my Dad and my Mom (who lurks these boards very regularly). Thank you for keeping my Dad in your thoughts, and we have very high hopes that everything will heal up exactly as it should.
Again, thank you all! :grouphug:
