Speaking of folks we've met...

We might be going further, and moving out your way in a year or so. Gotta get somewhere that gas is lower than 3 or 4 dollars a gallon, as it's likely to hit this summer here in SoCal. Texas may be freeper central, but it's cheap to live there.

I"ve now met groups of DUers in Texas, SoCal, and the Southeast. I think my list of EvilDUers is up over 50 or 60 at this point. Although Travelin' Will Pitt has the record, I'm sure.

I won't make a list of DU handles, because I remember most of them as their given names after meeting them. I met some wonderful people in Bloomington IN when Will Pitt was there speaking. Drank many beers with the Chicago contingent at the last meet-up, and did tequila shots with "Whitacre D_WI" and his lovely wife "eyesroll" in my own town.

Each meeting with DUers has been very positive and I look forward to many more. (OK, the tequila shots are NEVER a good idea, in retrospect)

If/when we win in November (lord willin' and the creek don't rise), I demand a National DU gathering!

For what it's worth - I would have bought you some beers! :) I don't get to Seattle much, though. I HATE driving over there because I don't know where the hell I'm going and the traffic is terrible enough when you DO know where the fuck you're going. Living in Roslyn has made it even worse - no traffic, and I don't really drive much anymore since I'm in walking distance from work.

102. I had the privilege of meeting Mr and Mrs Cluedin in Seattle last year….

We had a wonderful few days together and she and her husband did a great job of showing me the sights and landmarks in the beautiful city of Seattle and also of keeping me entertained and introducing me to fellow DU’ers –as well as some of their circle of friends. I’ve been in touch with her since that time and she is doing well and everything is fine with her.

He had asked for a tape of the Gore Vidal Bill Mahar appearance and I had a copy. So we hooked up for a coffee and some talk about his run for Secretary of State and some other fun political talk.

Andy's a great guy and had his act together with all the BBV stuff he's done and some good stories.

I'm also working at getting Andy on KVI here in Seattle for an interview regarding the whole BBV thing and other issues. Hopefully this will happen within the next week or so.
