I will take his "California vocal harmonies" over those of the Beach Boys, CSNY, and the Eagles any day.
Exquisite work.
If you look at just about any notable LA sex, drugs, occult, or just "odd" occurence from 65 to 75, there will be a connection to either Papa John or Phil Kaufman.
