Sid Meier's Civilization. |

I don't know about you, but Civ II is still my favorite game. III, IV, and V just aren't as much fun.

1. Civ III is my fave. Never could get Civ IV to work. |
|
Love choosing the Americans. They work faster than other nations and start with a scout. Haven't played for a long while, though.

2. Civ 2 will always hold a special place in my gaming heart |
|
But I can't play it after playing the newer ones.
I certainly had more fun playing the second than any other version though.

3. I think I might play Civ II right now. |

Large world, Deity Level. My spaceship will be launched sometime in the 1940's.

Got into computer games for awhile, but was never a big fan. The only one I still play is Civ II.

6. Yeah, Civ II was the best one |
|
We keep a 10+ year-old Mac in the basement that is pretty much only used to play Civ.
I think V is supposed to be coming out soon.

7. Never had the chance to play Civ II, but I've heard great things. |
|
I played the original Civ back in high school, and I bought Civ III a few years ago, and I liked them both - Civ III a little more than the original. Still, a helluva fun game that I'm still not very good at.

Despite the now-dated graphics, it is by far more user-friendly. I had high hopes for III because it looked worlds better, but it was just too plodding in its pacing, and hard to get a handle on resource management and trade, and so forth. I liked the concept of conquest by influence, but not the execution - it seemed far too arbitrary. I never did try IV as a result.
Anyway, I am relieved I am not alone. I always feel like a Luddite or dinosaur when I pop the Civ II CD-ROM in the drive.

As someone who played them all, Civ II was absolutely the best iteration of this game. None of the others has even come close to the perfection of Civ II. :)

11. Ummmm...Civ V isn't out yet |
|
Doesn't come out until this fall. Looks pretty awesome though. They're finally moving to hexagons instead of squares, can't stack an infinite amount of units in one space.
My fave is probably 4. Loved 1 and 2. 3 was a little blah.

And I can't get it to run on Win7.x(
I always played the One City Challenge. You start on Deity difficulty, and can only build one city the entire game. I could usually win by the late 19th century.
