What's the most comfortable bra you've found?
I hate wearing bras, but sometimes feel the need. Most are really uncomfortable for me, because I have a severe scoliosis (50 degree thoracic curve), which causes my rib cage to be expanded. I'm a size 40 bra, but not a large cup. The "40" is due to the scoliosis.

So, I'm just looking for suggestions for a comfortable bra. No underwires, please.

Thanks for any suggestions.

1. I'm kinda petite so I don't wear one cept in winter
otherwise guys stare too much.

Small breasts = no need for a bra: a silver lining to an otherwise dark cloud.

2. I HATE underwire, too. HATE IT. Ends up bruising me.

I also have a broad back, and a B cup, and by far, BY FAR, the most comfortable bra I've found is the Ipex wireless bra by Victoria's Secret.

I also like it because I don't like to look (cough) "cold".

http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=GP-220136&page=1&cgname=OSBRPIPXZZZ&rfnbr=5318

If that doesn't really seem to suit you, I can recommend other VS wireless bras. Very comfy.

I also have a Natori wireless and a Hanro wireless (but they get to be a tad pricey; bought when I was working as a corporate lawyer and rolling in it).

4. I'm more comfortable unfastening the front-fasten type, but I can still...
undo a back fasten bra with one hand.

Who says you lose skills with age?

5. Champion makes some very comfortable sports bras.
I have a hard time finding bras that give me both lift and comfort (I hate underwires, too!). I'm fairly well endowed, and I'm actually someone who would love to have slightly smaller boobs. Big boobs are waaaaay overrated if you're the one carrying them around 24/7.

22. Ditto
Both on Champion sports bras and big boobs. They are definitely not what they are cracked up to be. I don't understand why women get boob jobs.

I like Bali bras. They make some nice ones without underwires.

6. bras suck.
But like you said, they're sometimes necessary lol.

I've yet to find a totally comfortable bra. I *hear* that Victoria's Secret makes the best bras, though. I don't have anything from them, but everyone I know totally raves about it.

I have heard that Nordstrom has good bra-fitting assistants, and many styles and sizes, if you have one in your area.
Looking at the internet, women with scoliosis seem to recommend front closing; racerback (if you have trouble with shoulder straps slipping); and camisole styles.

8. I'm fond of the "Manzear"
Had to do the handyman thing today, so I was wearing a tight t-shirt. Caught myself in the mirror. Not a trace of man-boobs on this dawg, but I did look like I was cold. (And I was anything but cold)

Go figure.

9. I second checking out Nordstroms...
I hadn't been fitted in years, and they did a great job.

Very discreet, and knew what they were doing.

If you have a store near you, by all means check it out.

Not cheap, but I feel you get what you pay for...

Good luck!

13. I hate underwire...
I won't wear them. I love this bra, it's so comfy (as far as bras go) and since I'm larger on top, I need support plus comfort. These bras work for me, and they're very affordable.

18. Sorry, I got nuthin'. I mean, literally: I got nuthin' goin on up there!
I'm 6'1" with a 35" chest if I inhale. I think I wear a 32B or C, but I can tell ya, Spanx makes the bra I'm most comfy in, called the "brallelujah. It's front-fastening and guarantees not to squeeze your backfat and give you that bra bulge when you wear a tshirt. As a natural ectomorph, I don't have much bulgy stuff, but I hate when bras constrain you along the back and this one is perfect.

For those more endowed (ie, every other woman in America) I would recommend "Moving Comfort". They're a sports bra company, but the great thing about them is that they're velcroed everywhere so you can really tweak it and make specific adjustments to your needs. The one I bought my friend has maximum support and she loves it. You can buy online or go to a sports store and try it on.

Good luck! As a hard-to-fit chick I feel your pain. In my next life I'm gonna open a women's store that will customize clothing for every body type. Sick of the cookie-cutter off the rack schlock that makes women miserable!!
