I quit watching after Season 3 - part of Season 4.
It should have ended in Season 3
-------------
I will watch the show backwards from the last ep, down the line...

1. It would probably make just as much sense watching it backwards |

2. Naw, a lot of stuff would be unexplained. They had the G vs E thing set up from day one. |

If it ended in Season three, it would've been a different show--there'd be no point to all the literary references and the philosophy thrown in. Hell, there would've been no point to most of the characterization that is at the core of the show's appeal. If you watch it for the sheer melodrama, like a "V" written by grown ups or a "Battlestar Gallactica" without the self flagellation, then ending it at Season 3 makes at least some kinda sense.
But then you have all the stuff about the monster and the ghosts left unexplained. The thing I love about Lost is how much they're willing to leave unexplained, like the Hurley parrot or just which side of the "war" Vincent is on.
