Can I make chocolate chip cookies with maple sugar? |
|
(since I love maple sugar).'
I am using the soft recipe and it seems like it should work. Has anyone tried it?

That's how new recipe discoveries are made. Subtle adjustments here and there. I love chocolate chip pancakes with maple syrup, so I say go for it.

7. Of course. But just to be on the safe side, you should let them cool |
|
on the bar in The Lounge overnight, in case they turn out to be unhealthy
The Lounge bar has important scientific properties: unhealthy cookies slowly evaporate if left there

10. LOL! I thought this said maple syrup at first |

I have no idea but I think you should try. Some of the most delicious recipes come about by people experimenting with different ingredients and even throwing them in randomly. My mum used to do this all the time and what she produced used to be mouth-watering

You may need to adjust the recipe a bit to get the right balance of flavor and texture, but that just means you'll need to make several test batches and eat the results. :9
I haven't tried it but I've substituted maple syrup for white and brown sugars, honey, and molasses. It changes the flavor and sometimes requires adding a bit more flour when substituting for dry sweeteners.

you will need to experiment. Sugar sets up/caramelizes differently than maple sugar, which will make the cookies flatter and crispier most likely as it's a liquid. Try playing with adding more flour (or perhaps ground walnuts) or something to make the sugar solidify a bit. I've made maple syrup cookies before but they're a lot different - very little flour and they spread out into super thin lace cookies.
Worth a shot though. Baking is less of an exact science than most people realize, although there is a bit of 'chemistry' involved with how ingredients react to each other (and to heat).
EDIT: just saw you said maple sugar not syrup. This should work fine. Sorry.
