Yesterday, I played two games of chess with my 12-year-old son... |
|
He beat me both games.
Is this something I should be concerned about?

2. I used to play my uncle all the time |
|
and he used to beat me all the time. One day (I was probably 13) I won and he demanded a rematch. I beat him again and sadly, that was the last time we played chess. :(

10. I may play him some more, but now he wants to shoot pool with me. |
|
If he moves on to poker, I'll feel like I'm in college again...

5. My kid first beat me at chess when he was nine. |
|
I was damn proud of him.
I generally play hard with him and I may have been complacent, but once he got me, there was no turning back.
After two years, both of my boys, now 11 and 15 can beat me.
I would be curious to see if they could beat their uncle, my brother, but not so curious that I'd ever let him near my boys. My brother was the best chess player I ever personally played, and is a funny and charming guy, but that aside, is otherwise pure evil. Sometimes I think he made a deal with the devil to be good at chess.
If your kid's real good, check around for Mestopheles. (Just kidding, congratulations on the bright kid.)

I was damn proud of him.
We had played several times before but not for awhile and I usually beat him. But after last night, I told him I was proud of him.
He liked my saying that and shook my hand...:)

14. Not if you taught him! My three daughters have been like that since they were ten or so. |
|
I'm pretty damn good, but they took what they learned from me and went from there. I can still kick their butts in Othello!
