The Ghost Writer - need locale info
My Fiance and I saw The Ghost Writer over the weekend.

We loved it and I want the DVD. It's a very well-made movie with very well-rounded characters.

We agreed we also liked the beach house most of it takes place in. We are trying to find the place where they filmed the movie. I looked at IMDB and it could be either Sylt, Germany. Or Romo, Denmark. I'm not sure which. (In the story it's supposed to be Long Island.)

But we really love this house and would like to find out more about it. It's a big poured concrete contemporary.

This is one view of the interior:

1. I can't answer your question about the house,
But I read the book a couple of years ago. It was written by Robert Harris and I've read a few of his other books and enjoyed them. I would love to see the movie sometime.

2. IMdB says...

"Largely because Roman Polanski could not set foot in the United States, filming took place in Germany made to look like Massachusetts."
"Some part of the movie was filmed on the German island of Sylt as a stand in for Martha's Vineyard. To look more American it was dressed up with an attention to details: American style cars, US signage, added telephone poles (phone and energy lines run mostly underground in Germany), wooden houses, American extras, etc."
"Lang's beach house set was built entirely in a studio. The Cape Cod views through the windows were the result of green screens."
