Why is it, for every "lost pet" flyer I see posted on the street....
the missing animal always "needs meds"?

Actually, I already know why, what I REALLY want to know is why people thinks it still works?

P.S. I hate seeing missing pet flyers. I stop and read them all from top to bottom.

1. it's probably just a code for the dog being an alcoholic
or not.

2. I've noticed that too
and I read them all too. Couple summers ago, one of my cats got loose accidently and was gone for over a month. I posted those flyers, went door-to-door for blocks around with my kids, visited the shelter every other day - the whole works. The day before my middle boy, the kitty's kid, left for college, the shelter called and the cat had been turned in - from the one block we hadn't gotten to yet!!

She never needed meds, so I never put that phrase on my flyers, but oh, man, I was sure needing them after that long summer!

I always hope, when I read them now, that one day I'll have the opportunity to help someone find their lost pet, then the circle will be complete.

3. Perhaps the reason they are lost
is that the animal is looking for a place to die.

The only pet I had that needed meds (cat - aged 19) went missing when we accidentally left the door open. Bettina disappeared, we think, because she was ready to move on.
