DU Coroner's Inquest: Basic Instinct, (spoilers)

Last night I watched Basic Instinct for the first time since seeing it in theater damn near twenty years ago and it just confused the hell out of me.

Basically there are six murders in the storyline and three potential murderers, Catherine, Beth and Roxy.

1. Johnny Boz (Ice Pick in Bed)
2. Nielsen (Shot in Car)
3. Gus (Ice Pick in Elevator)
4. Catherine and Beth's Professor (Ice Pick)
5. Beth's ex-Husband (Shot in Car)
6. Catherine's Parents (Boat Sabotaged)

So who killed who?

It would seem that Beth murdered at least two people and Roxy tried to murder one. So "Catherine Did It" doesn't really wrap things up.

2. I was wondering if perhaps the "directors cut" on DVD was more confusing

but the only difference that jumped out at me from memory is one sex scene was much more explicit than I remember,
