9. Damn, that poor kid in Philly is gonna be crying n his beer now.
Though if Philly won, he could show some class and open a bottle of Dom Perignon.

8. Pleasure to watch Philadelphia fans suffer through yet another championship loss
What's that, now? Three in three different sports in less than ten years?

And, of course, go Hawks!

But I'm a transplant here in Chicago. It's more pleasurable to watch the Flyers lose than the Blackhawks win. :-)

10. The Phillies won the World Series in '08, so it's not like that town has suffered long.
The Flyers played some very good hockey this postseason, too, and easily outperformed their expectations. Philadelphia fans have little reason to hang their heads.

11. That's true
But it was still fun to watch the Eagles, Phillies, and now Flyers all lose championships.

15. Flyers had one great year this season - they did a great job taking the last game
into OT when they barely made it to the playoffs in the first place.
The Phils have been GREAT the last few years and this year is not over yet...

The Eagles may need a little help this year - I think they shot themselves in the foot trading McNabb to the Redskins, but that's water over the dam now...(Or under the bridge...whatever...)

12. I've actually discovered that hockey is a pretty fun game to watch, at least during the Olympics and
the Stanley Cup playoffs when they're not constantly fighting like a bunch of drunken idiots.

That was fun, and at least one Chicago team is good right now!

13. An amazing turn around since the death of Bill Wirtz
When I was a kid the Blackhawks were the toughest ticket in town.. Bobby Hull was the Babe Ruth of hockey... Bill Wirtz killed two generations of fans in Chicago...

Rocky Wirtz has quickly undone that

21. His father, Arthur, wasn't much better for that team
I'm glad Rocky didn't follow in their footsteps.

Off to do my happy dance, and wishing I could be there for the party on Friday. And, wishing the Flubs would get some inspiration here...

18. Congratulations to the Blackhawks
Let's see, that the Blackhawks, the White Sox a few years ago, and of course the Jordan years in the NBA. Bitching about the Cubs and their pathetic franchise is now verboten for, oh, let's say the next 75 years.

I'm glad to see one of the original six win the Cup, particularly since it had been so many years since they'd won it. Man, I thought the Bruins had it bad (last Cup in 1972), but Chicago had it even worse. Congratulations Black Hawks! Now I'm hoping the Bruins can do it next year.
