2. And yet so bland and pathetic when compared to the show it seems like it wants to be |
|
That would be Arrested Development.
This should be taken as more of a compliment to Arrested Development than a condemnation of Modern Family, which is a passable if a bit overrated, sitcom.

13. I disagree. I love Arrested Development with all my heart but Modern Family is a |
|
different kind of show. Modern Family isn't as totally whacked out as AD, not a good or bad thing, just different. Both are completely hilarious in my book. I still love AD *more*, and doubt that anything would ever equal it, but Modern Family is by far my favorite show on right now. I think it's way more than passable and definitely not overrated.

21. When I watch Modern Family I feel like I'm watching AD with all the spunky cleverness taken out. |
|
But that's just me. It certainly has a bigger audience than Arrested Development ever had.

just could not get through the latest episode of Parenthood, too much shouting as far as Modern Family two episodes at the beginning of the series was enough, just to painful to watch won't be going back to either TV is a wasteland, I'm beginning to wonder why I even bother

17. The thing I love about her is that she's allowed to be hilarious. Not in a "laugh at the |
|
bimbo gold-digger with an accent" way either. She gets to be sweet and funny and smart and wonderfully silly. She's gorgeous and her figure seems impossible.

19. Saw her the only time I watched George Lopez, and in the interview she... |
|
was exactly like she is on the show. And laughed a LOT.
In which case, I am smitten.
Trivia from the Lopez appearance-- she's a natural blonde, but complained no one would take her seriously as Hispanic unless she went brunette. But, she said, she doesn't want to be taken seriously, she wants to do comedy.

5. Parenthood was an utter disappointment. |
|
I was really looking forward to it, because of the actors. I tried to watch it, but after 3 episodes I gave up.
Haven't seen Modern Family.

10. I love Modern Family. I've only seen Parenthood a couple of |
|
times and wasn't at all impressed. I just hate to see Peter Krause (from one of my favorite shows of all time- Six Feet Under)on this truly substandard show. I loved both Krause and Michael C. Hall as the Fisher boys. And now, Michale C. Hall is on my current Favorite, Dexter.

11. Since Parenthood was a complete shithole artless fuckstain of a movie, |
|
I'm not surprised.
Though I imagine that Modern Family is also a giant steaming shitpile of lackluster art, cliche-ridden hackness, and a celebration of mediocrity.

16. You could be right. But I trust my instincts. |
|
So far, I've only been wrong about Moonlighting, which I assumed would be awful being that it was so popular; but it was actually incredibly well done, intelligent, and well worth watching.
it's amazing, but every now and again Americans actually decide to watch something that's actually done with a high degree of artistry and intelligence. Not very fucking often, but occasionally.

14. Well, my brother is on Parenthood and so is Nate Fisher from Six Feet Under, so it's hard |
|
for me to dislike it. I think it's pretty good actually. Not best-show-ever good, but quite watchable.
Modern Family, however, is second only to Arrested Development in my heart.

23. Modern Family is produced by Christopher Guest (Best in Show, |
|
Spinal Tap, etc.)and to me it has the same flavor. To anyone who hasn't given this show a chance, you really must. I'm normally a real snob regarding network T.V. shows (because of the writing) and am guilty of not watching anything but cable for the most part. I probably should give Parenthood another chance - I've always been gaga over Peter Krause-Nate Fisher. I ended up renting all of the seasons for Lost just a few weeks ago and have to admit I was blown away.

Watching Cam interact with Lily is the funniest. Thing. Ever.
I also love the ad for the show in which the youngest daughter falls off the couch laughing at her older sister. It never, ever happened at our house growing up.
And, yeah, Modern Family is my favorite show.
