A creepy parent of one of my worst students cyber stalked me. Ew! |
|
It's summer. Her useless brat of a son is dead to me. Only it turned out that he bombed his final so bad that he failed my class by one point. So psycho mom googles around and called me at home, only I got rid of my land line 3 years ago. So she tries to call me at my father's house. I'm not a "junior" so who knows how in the hell she figured out who my dad was. I happened to be at his house helping him garden when she called. I asked her how she even knew to call me there and she only cryptically said, "Well, all sorts of things are on the internet these days."
That's creepy enough. But then she goes into this creepy rant about how her son is just too darn smart to have failed my class. Oh, the poor darling wants to graduate a semester early. In the course of this conversation she oscillates between telling me I'm "an angel" for being a helpful teacher and ranting about how incompetent I must be at my job that her son dropped from a to F in my class. When I remind her that I talked to her this semester about her kid's performance, she just flatly denied ever having gotten a call from me!
Aghk! She's actually insane! That sure explains her obnoxious brat of a son who would bark and meow in class just to annoy me. It was like teaching 13 year olds again. Now precious needs another chance to pass his final. Creepy creepy lady, go away!

1. I had a parent of a student in 9th grade |
|
he got a "c" mid term. Parent said he never had a grade that low. I said " he never takes notes, never opens his book and never fills in the note taking sheet that is provided (this is not a work sheet). Her answer " he has never had to before" my answer "I guess he better start or he won't pass). Parents just want the grade given not earned. Kid ended up getting a ride to a decent school in NC due to his track abilities (set a state record). I'm okay with that as long as he is now doing his work.

is this actually a college student, as the term 'final' would suggest to a Brit? Or a secondary school pupil? Barking and meowing in class to annoy the teacher sounds more like a 6-year-old!
And sorry that you're having to deal with the crazy Mum from Hell! I did once have to deal with a student's father. who phoned/wrote to all his daughter's lecturers and everyone up to the Vice-Chancellor(!) in an attempt to demand that her finals grade be upped (and no, she had not failed); but at least he didn't stalk us at home!
