He was Fredo in The Godfather. Also in Dog Day Afternoon.

I did not like the godfather series because of the subject matter (i have no love for mobsters) but their analysis of his facial expressions was great.
Meryl Streep nursed him thru his final illness. I saw Dog day afternoon but did not see the Deer Hunter.
